Oslo based Monalia call their music mountain surf influenced by 60's pop and the British underground scene from the 80's and 90's and the track HTLT (Hate This Lukewarm Thing) with it's stalking beat and almost barbiturate soaked vocal performance (for me) has a subtle Seattle grunge thing happening as well. The dread filled lilt, big guitars, and hazy disposition made me think of Alice and Chains a bit as filtered through 60's rock tones, of course (wink).
HTLT is the second single off their upcoming album "So Much Better" dropping on the 5th of April followed by a tour in Norway.
Monalia are Terje Halmrast (guitar and vocals), Vegar Eriksfallet (drums), Bendik Dræge Orvan (Bass), Svein Petter Nilssen (guitar) and Stine Helen Tunstrøm (vocals).
