"you got a name with a warning written on my heart..."
Norwegian rockers Electric High define rock. No need for descriptors like alternative or post punk or indie rock. Listen to their dense heavy manifestation of rock called "Trembling Bones" inspired by a hard heavy night and the resulting hangovers or as the band puts it: "with pounding headaches, death-breaths, stomachs turning, vague memories of what happened the night before, and – trembling bones", and you will see what I mean. The track begins with percussive tones and sort of swamp bluesy guitar or resonator vibes as PV Staff croons /wails with a lovely soulful human distortion. When the band dinges heavy, dense rock eruptions in such a dirty, organic way I couldn't help but think of an amalgam of luminaries like Blue Oyster Cult, Golden Earing, Aerosmith and even MC5. My apologies to my myopic view and not including iconic Norwegian rock bands. Electric High play guttural, blistering power rock with grit and bloody guitar fingers.
Electric High is PV Staff (lead vocals), Olav Iversen (lead vocals), Marius Mørch (guitars), Einride Torvik (bass) and Tor Bjarne Bjelland (drums). Enjoy the explosions.

After putting out a five track EP named Go Easy On My Heart six weeks ago, Norwegian rockers Electric High are on it again, with another new track called Trembling Bones. This explosive piece of rock came together down after a hard night out, during a heavy hangover. Singer PV Staff and guitarist Marius Mørch woke up, equally devastated by last night’s escapades, each with an idea for a new song. One called up the other, and two songs turned into one, about the way they felt when they woke up that day – with pounding headaches, death-breaths, stomachs turning, vague memories of what happened the night before, and – trembling bones.
The track was recorded at Solslottet Studios, in Bergen, Norway, produced by Iver Sandøy. The percussive intro illustrates the shaky state our songwriters were in while they conceived this song. And the «situation growing on my mind» is nothing but the escalating headaches and the paranoia of the foregoing night’s blurry events. The relentless stomp of the pounding chorus only amplifies the gut-wrenching feeling, followed by a brief moment of relief, before throwing you back into the claustrophobic vibe and another pounding chorus of «Trembling Bones». Take a listen, and feel the hangover!
Many more releases from Electric High will follow continuously throughout 2021.
