"ecstatic electronica colliding with organic sonic tribalism..."
Munich Based Experimental Post-Rock/Dub/Groove Duo WhåZho, the moniker of Philip Groß (drums, samples, effects, glockenspiel) and Christian Riedel (bass, synths, loops & effects) craft the scintillating sonic hysteria of "Blå". I am a complete sucker for heavy and heavily textured bass sounds and the density alone of the bottomless pit of bass on this track is something to marvel at. Anchored with sort of industrial meets tribal drumming and what feels like robotic transmissions from space, guitar splashes and ecstatic electronica colliding with organic sonic tribalism and you have a separate universe of sounds all together, driving, unrelenting, hip hopping and popping on high. Simply badass.

They stood in the rehearsal room and had their first gig, no guitarist and no songs ... this was the trigger for the brilliant start of WhåZho 2015. The looper became their best friend and many other devices joined them - the motto "more is more" was capitalized for a while and Gutfeeling Records became the homebase.
Consisting of Philip Groß (drums, samples, effects, glockenspiel) and Christian Riedel (bass, synths, loops & effects), they move with mainly instrumental songs through all genres and styles and rush with fascination for effect-rich loops and samples through the provincial metropolises, to create a digital/analog sound world as a couple. Gladly also live with various guest musicians. Pop glamour in the form of visual art by VJ Zava was still missing, so they packed it in - it's a must! New LP "+-" out June 6 2023 on Gutfeeling Records
