In past American Pancake Mac DeMarco track and album reviews the name Harry Nilsson has come up but that comparison is solidified as I watch his spartan version of No Other Heart as the ambient lovely noise of the bay of Far Rockaway, Queens accompanies him. Like Nilsson, Mac imbues his earnest punch drunk love melodies with the kind of youthful wide eyed sense of wonder we all feel before adult cynicism creeps on in.
