Hibou- "Junipero" from Upcoming "Something Familiar" Album Sun Soaked Dreamy Pop Out Of Seattle, Washington

Peter Michel's humble beginnings like recording his 2015 self titled debut album in his parents walk in closet, it gaining buzz and adoration which in turn lead to supporting gigs for Metric, Phantogram and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Now under the moniker Hibou, the second album "Something Familiar" due to drop March 2nd, gets more familiar, darker and more personal. Michel's battle with anxiety and the sense of depersonalization, of feeling disengaged from the mind and body is addressed. Junipero is a lush sun soaked pallete of sprite sparkly guitar lines, deep bass grooves and Michel's languid dreamy voice sitting plushy in the mix. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album. On Barsuk records.

About the track- Hibou says:

"The song is about the episode of Black Mirror titled “San Junipero”. This was one of the best love stories I had ever heard. The contrast between the two worlds hit very close to home for me, as I often feel torn between a conscious state and losing a hold of my memories and who I am. I also resonated a lot with the anxieties of Yorkie. The episode dealt a lot with how scary it is to commit yourself to love and transition which I think is quite beautiful. Patience, dedication, and purity, are outgoing themes throughout the story and those are things that now more than ever I am finding solace in."
