Matthew McNeal - Texas Roots in "Rumorosa"

Rumorosa the first single off of Matthew McNeal's album "Good Luck" which drops this month chugs along with country rock meets indie rock strains. On the record, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, McNeal teamed up with Texas psych-country guru Israel Nash and Producer Ted Young (Kurt Vile / Sonic Youth) to record the album to analog tape.

Matthew grew up in Fort Worth, Texas in a rural town. He worked in a peach orchard and learned to play music in a church band. Eventually while still a teen he opened up his own DIY punk rock venue as a sanctuary for the town's "weird kids" to listen to all kinds of music. Music that small town values might of labelled "devils music" under their breath.

Listen to Rumorosa and you might hear the push and pull of small town Texas life between the lines.
