The initial downbeats of the track Fever by UK band, INK felt familiar and I almost turned my back on it then (just in time) Todd Dorigo's vox soothed my anxiety and then raised my heart beat. INK also features bass by Dougie Poynter (McFly and McBusted) and drums by Corey Alexander. The aesthetic on Fever is sultry and leather slick and I flashed on a wide array of musical images as diverse as Nick Cave, Muse, The National and even Duran Duran. Dorigo's vocal performance drips from his lips and, musical tropes aside, the track could of existed in multiple time frames / decades in that romantic wave sort of way. Fever and maybe INK has pursed lips and bedroom eyes and who could possibly hate that.
