The UK's Meaney and the Misfits is the band / project centered around singer-songwriter Peter Meaney's storytelling. From the "Batten Down The Hatches" EP, the track Mind Over Matter is a study in opposites. You have the lovely lilting melodies and earnest folk approach with Meaney's beaten and worn vocal performance. It all works. It is lovely, hopeful but hard too, just like life itself. Leah Hart's somber harmonies and solo vox cast more reflections to revel in.
