The Nova Darlings sing about life and death and everything in between - hear "Knife To The Heart"

The Nova Darlings sing about life and death and everything in between in Los Angeles. That is a lot of ground to cover for four millennials. I find that many bands have one person at the creative center and while I can only guess who that person is in The Nova Darlings (maybe no one) I like that on their Bandcamp page the songs are written and recorded by The Nova Darlings. This makes me believe they are more than a band and veering toward a family of sorts.

The track Knife To The Heart makes me want to take up piano. I love the way it moves the rhythm. Mackin Carroll (bass guitar / lead vox) has a youthful, introspective / self aware / angsty tone and kind of reminds me of artist, musician, animator Sean Soloman of Moses Campbell and Moaning (fame). The song bobs and weaves and erupts in all the right place bolstered by dynamic down beats,  an awesome musical break and poetic lyrics. Cool stuff.  A song that begs you to listen and feel multiple times. The Nova Darlings are Mackin Carroll (bass, vox), Carter Couron (drums), Larry Scaniello (guitar) and Sara Mulford (keys, backing vox).
