Something Green by California indie pop band New Me feels all retro with synthy hooks on top of happy go lucky meets proto punky meets 80's new wave sounds. There is a cool tinge here that feels dark too but also has a bit of whimsy like I could play the more acid trippy scenes of Never Ending Story and Something Green and it would totally fit. Look out for their debut 7 inch on Bleeding Gold Records. The group has members of well know San Diego bands including Spooky Cigarette centered around singer-songwriter Barnabuss Chump whose stile is off kilter in a good way. I love the sounds.
