Mike Hazelman captivates on "Astound"

Astound by Mike Hazelman feels kind of unique and old fashioned to me (in a good way). The song doesn't beg or borrow a myriad of musical tropes or pop trends of the day but instead tells a story in an earnest way via spirited alt folk / pop guitar, strings and Hazelman's beautiful somewhat somber and kind of familial vocal performance. His story captivates and you gladly follow him ready to take in the next line.
