Tender truths bleed beautifully on "All That I Need" by singer-songwriter Evan Delp

All That I Need by singer-songwriter Evan Delp built on truths, a beautiful vocal performance and evocative guitars shows why less is more in a big way. Of course, you have to be able to fully bleed and be able to record those depths of emotions. Delp has a knack for capturing truths. Much of his work is recorded in one take wherever he is at the moment. In his bedroom or dorm room. He also twists lyrics inside out. The poetic wisdom of his words belie his young age. Of this track he writes:

I wrote this song when I encountered the critical stage of a relationship where communication starts to break down. One of the most difficult obstacles to overcome is that of trying to counteract somebody else's own self-doubt.
In a way, these lyrics are full of yearning. But they're also a narration of the moment in which I realized it was the beginning of the end, because a relationship can't flourish if both sides don't believe in their own worth. Singing "you're all that I need" was what I wanted to verbalize, but internally, the dialogue was "we aren't what each other needs."
