The Ballad of Casey Todd by D.H. Scott (Dakota Hall Scott) is the kind of folk based ballad that is the perfect antidote for the horribleness of bro-country music. When Scott waxes poetic about his trials and tribulations with his forlorn country wail and peaceful easy feeling tinged melodies supported by an easy sway and perfectly played sad acoustic lead and fiddle you get completely lost in his aesthetic. You are transported to some rustic bar in the middle of nowhere slow dancing to a comely yet equally sad partner. He tells stories with a keen emotional eye and it is not surprising that he spent his youth busking with his banjo and saw, hitchhiking around chasing music.    

D.H. Scott, singer songwriter, banjo, guitar (and saw) player was born in Bakersfield, California and now lives in New Mexico.

The Ballad Of Casey Todd (an actual person Scott would run into while walking to a train station to busk at in Los Angeles) will be the first single from his upcoming, debut album, My Body Longed For The Summer, which will be released on July 20th of this year.
