The Shakin' Nightmares post punk rocker "Alien Orders" boils over. See the (Official) Video
Alien Orders by The Shakin' Nightmares from the heavy industrial section of North East England's Redcar is a bombastic post punk rocker that carries elements of (said) post punk, rockabilly and, strangely enough, Americana rock. In fact, the chorus reminds me of something Bruce Springsteen might of written if he were more punk inclined and maybe the blue collar rock makes sense seeing that the members of The Shakin' Nightmares members have day jobs in chemical plants, hydrocarbon stores and as "diggers of the earth that dominate the Tees Valley." I also thought of The Clash though too in the potent raspy vocals and in between some of the guitar phrasings I felt tinges of Ska music as well. Amazingly tight, vibrant rock and roll influenced by "50s rock ‘n’ roll, 70s punk and reggae, 80s post-punk, 90s Britpop and 00s indie."
In the official video for Alien Orders the band breaks free from some seemingly psychological restraints put on them. Cool. I want to see this band live.
