Gaspar Sanz will hook and draw you in with the big exuberant indie rock sound of "Come Home"

AP Track Review:

Come Home by Gaspar Sanz (Australia) is a big exuberant indie rocker with that quiet loud sound, a dreamy bridge and sort of drunken vocals. The hooky slide up the neck guitar prog is truly infectious as is the lead lines and the active bass and solid drumming. The indie rock is infused with sideways pop affectations that makes me think of Pixies meets The Lovely Bad Things meets King Tuff meets Dope Lemon. Gaspar Sanz has dramatic flair too and maybe it seeped vocalist Jimmy Bell and drummer Sammy Davenport (Tame Impala, Mink Mussel Creek) who re-met while pursuing acting gigs. One thing led to another and they found themselves playing musical gigs instead, their journey leading them to hook up with Dom Coulton (bass) and Jesse Lawrence (guitar) and, to top it off, all were WAAPA alumni (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts). As I listen to Come Home again and again I also think of Burger Records (don't you?).

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:

After graduating a year apart and each making their own separate ways to Sydney in 2011, drummer Sammy Devenport (formerly of Tame Impala and Mink Mussel Creek) and vocalist Jimmy Bell reconnected, and started playing music together while pursuing acting careers.

What started off as a hobby in between acting gigs, started to get more serious with the addition of bass player Dom Coulton, who met Sammy through bartending, and other WAAPA alumni, guitarist Jesse Lawrence.
After playing in various incarnations, covering a wide array of musical genres ranging from pop to folk, the band settled on a sound, name and style which culminated in their self-titled debut EP in 2017.
Tracks from the EP, ‘On my Way’ and ‘Watch You Go,’ saw praise and spins from both triple j and triple j Unearthed, landing the band an artist spotlight and later a feature artist slot. During this time, Gaspar Sanz played sold out shows around Sydney with such acts as Philadelphia Grand Jury and Psychedelic Porn Crumpets.
In 2018, the band followed up with the release of ‘Scene Of The Crime’ and ‘I Swim’, which earned #1 on the indie charts and #3 on the overall charts at triple j Unearthed for three consecutive weeks.
During this time, the band continued to play shows around Sydney, headlining venues such as Oxford Art Factory and perfecting their energetic and incredibly engaging live set.
After signing a record deal with Helium Records, the band have further honed their sound and are releasing their brand-new EP ‘Meanderthal’ in April 2019.
