Native Virginian singer-songwriter, Mykal Allen, on the evocative track Old Piano conjures up earnest roots music with strong blends of garden rock, porch blues and gospel stirred in with a lonesome vocal performance that draws on familial bonds made from blood or just pure love only. Old Piano is from his debut EP "Pure" which is appropriate because his sound is just that. There is no sense of train jumping here (a reference to a Cure song) but, instead, that the song come right from the heart and the earth.
