Charcoal Burners' tender reflections on the intimate and pained "Brighton Boat Hire"
AP Track Reviews
Brighton Boat Hire by Dunedin, New Zealand based Charcoal Burners centered around the songwriting visions of Andrew Spittie is a beautifully wrought, spartanly produced song. It is just acoustic guitar and string sounds that stand back for Spittle's evocative, intimate vox. The song feels like quiet, painful revalations told to a friend after something has been broken into pieces but not beyond repair. The glue is always love and hope and that feeling is laced within Spittie's melodies. - Robb Donker
