Stockholm based Birthday Girl sends multicolored dreams down the drain on "In My Stomach"

AP Track Review

Sometimes it take a while to let a song absorb into your psyche but that is not the case with the winding, spinning psychedelic In My Stomach by Stockholm based alternative rock band Birthday Girl. From the very onset, the dreamy song with "aaaaahs"with distorted guitars and framing drawn out pretty, night glowing vox feel like translucent watercolors spiralling down the drain. Dreamy on high stuff to be sure.

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:

Stockholm-based alternative rock band Birthday Girl share their new single “In My Stomach.” After their opening releases received huge praise from Iggy Pop on BBC 6 Music and Cheryl Waters on KEXP, they are back with a highly anticipated new single. Girl Underground Music exclusively premiered the track, praising, "Birthday Girl's dark caress have been an irresistible melding of charisma and sound throughout their short musical existence, it seemed impossible for a band to keep nailing their releases. Alas, here we are..".
The single is out now on all DSPs via Sweet Cream Records.
"Any kind of mental or emotional disruption in my life, positive or negative, manifests itself in my stomach. Our last single "I Came Here To Eat" covers the more positive aspects in the thrill of the chase, but "In My Stomach" is the opposite, more like "I Came Here To Vomit". The tune refers to a specific situation for me but anyone can relate to the feeling you get when you realise you've been had by someone, like a right donkey that just ate a plastic carrot."
