Bay Area's Thai Food get funky, junky and punky on "Back-Burner Palace"
AP Track Review
Back-Burner Palace by Bay Area's Thai Food is a junky funky post punk jag with late 70's proto punk tones. The bendy guitar notes, fill ridden drum beat, staccato bass, jammy guitar, sparse production and Cory Eklund's snarky vox is (sort of) feral and fun. Eklund and guitarist Curtis Narayanan formed the band in 2018 and shortly afterwards brought in bassist, Thom Haenlein and drummer, Thomas Baker.
Back Burner Palace is from the "Back Burner Palace" single (2019).

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:
Thai Food is guaranteed to be one of the top 5 indie rock bands formed in a pool in the Bay Area during the 21st century. Formed in July of 2018 by guitarist Curtis Narayanan and singer/instrumentalist Cory Eklund, and later joined by bassist Thom Haenlein, and drummer Thomas Baker, Thai Food recorded their first EP at St Andrew's Middle School. The EP, "Running Things" was mixed by Willie Samuels, produced by Thomas Baker and is set to release soon. The songs on the EP have been described as "banger after banger" (by members of the band). If you listen to it and end up not liking it, try again, there was probably something wrong with your speakers.
