Mercury Toys big hushed and husky sound on "New Times New Age"
AP Track Review
Mercury Toys is an alternative rock band out of Peru. They have amassed an army of fans since their inception in 2012. Their latest New Times New Age has a big driving sound with a rabid tom tom drum beat, heavy bass and guitars, and Nicolás Miranda's hushed, yet husky vox. In some ways the aesthetic feels squarely in that 1985 pocket of bands like the Cult and Echo and the Bunnymen and that ain't bad. Turn it up.

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:
words from the band:
We have recently restructured our band formation and after exploring different sounds and machines we have come up with a solid rock song that pays tribute to our influences and captures Mercury Toys' identity. New Times, New Age talks about moving forward and the sentiment of completion, infused with lead guitars, synthesizers and whispered vocals It is a celebratory song, though dark in form it carries a bright message.
