"Open Windows" by Meadows from Orebro, Sweden is deep emotional folk (Official Video)

AP Track Review

Originally from Orebro, Sweden, Meadows, the musical moniker of Christoffer Wadensten, on his beautifully drawn Open Windows let's it all go while acoustic urgent guitar picking frames a densely emotive vocal performance. It feels stripped down moving downward in a sad repose like a body laying down on the floor. Then the song erupts with a dynamic wash of synths, more instruments and voices as the song spins out in a dreamy way. The lyrics are poetic and the aesthetic (to me) almost feels like when stoicism blows apart with wild abandon.

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:

Featured on the Netflix show "13 Reasons Why" this guy and his music is currently being brought into millions of living rooms all around the world. And he gets back not alone thousands of Shazams per day but also very warm and enthusiastic feedback from new fans in the US, Canada, Brazil, Australia, the UK and many more. Let me introduce to you: Meadows. The Only Boy Awake.
Imagine Glen Hansard would wake up as The Tallest Man On Earth. Born and raised in the small town Söderköping on the east coast of Sweden, he travelled around the world for the last couple of years, collecting impressions, experiences and songs which turned him into one of the most interesting and nicest guys you can possibly think of.

In the end of 2016 Meadows released his debut EP "The Only Boy Awake" on What We Call Records which is the new label by Matthias Kranz and Henning Sommer (Wilhelm Tell Me). They met him at SPOT Festival 2015 in Aarhus, Denmark and fell in love with his music instantly. Since Meadows became a good friend of theirs and he was looking for a way to release his songs in Germany, they signed him as their first act not thinking twice and started working. Now „The Only Boy Awake“ is ready to hit the stores world wide. Enjoy Meadows. We already do!
