Montrell's indie pop psychedelia of "Aeroplane" (Official Animated Video)

AP Track Review

Montrell is an indie pop / rock band based out of London and the Official Video for their track Aeroplane is an animation by Luca Bowles cast in deep blue. There is a guy who steps into a psychedelic fantasy. While everyone chills in a cafe (based on CafĂ© Boheme in Soho) that has portraits of Lemons on the walls, he looks angsty while everyone else looks chill. He flies though the sky. Portraits peel off the walls and follow him. Other things occur and at the end maybe he finds peace riding that big lemon in the sky but the blue cast stays with you and matches the blue cast of the song itself. Aeroplane rides on sleepy psyche rock mellow guitar lines, acoustic strains and Jonny P. Taylor's sad reflective vox. The song as they say is "nihilistic, inspired by Nirvana & Steely Dan. Lemons" which feels like a perfect description. The tones feels sort of like something from 90's college radio in America and that is always a good thing.

Montrell is (the aforementioned) Jonny P. Taylor (lead vox, guitars), Michael Kurtz (lead guitar), Alex Moorse (drums) and Sam Delves (bass, vox).
