The pulp fiction horror punk sound of "Rear Window" by L.A. based The Tissues

AP Track Reviews

Rear Window by the L.A. based art punk band The Tissues plays like pulp fiction horror punk. During the verses you feel plucked guitar lines hanging in the air as the bass stalks around the drums (and vice versa) while Kristine Nevrose's vox feel out of breath and taken aback as if there is an exasperated dread in the air but when the chorus snaps in like a whip with guitars biting chunks of sound (the pumping music reminding me of the punk iconic X) Nevrose's wide eyed dread turns inside out, her vox attack biting at the scenery and spitting it out. The tonal shift is remarkable and potent. I love the sort of punk noir meets punk protest. Having released their debut LP "Veil" in 2017 and playing all over North America, Canada and Mexico, they are poised to release their second LP, "Blue Film" which was recorded at Hububaloo Studio in Fullerton, California.

The Tissues are Kristine Nevrose (vocals), Jerry Narrows (guitar), Bianca Ayala (bass) and Tara Edwards (drums).

Check out the Official Video which plays like a midnight movie as directed by the band's own Tara Edwards and Bianca Ayala.
