The Heavy Eyes' brutally short and artful "Late Night"
"Psychedelic blues rock from the delta"
The Heavy Eyes latest rocker Late Night is drenched in their signature, well, heaviness but things are not always as they seem. It starts with what sounds like drum sticks on empty beer bottles and then, as they say, all hell breaks loose. Big walls of churning blues rock guitars. The sound here as the vocals start does actually feel more spartan than usual for these boys and it doesn't follow your normal, standard song structure. It is a brutally short song- Ramones length really and the melodies and barrage during the one chorus strays into a sort of art rock motif - "and the ties that bind will unwind inside"in a sort of QOTSA sort of way. Interesting, cool, and leaves you wanting more.

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:
From Memphis
Psychedelic blues rock from the delta that sounds similar to a skeleton driving a speed boat on a flaming Mississippi River headed back to 1969.
