L.A. based Bobby Guard's country folk tinged "Faith Alone" is full of broken promises but offers hope

"about broken or false faith"

The first line of Bobby Guard's country folk tinged track Faith Alone repeats one of my favorite phrases, "They say "God doesn't give you anymore than you can handle" which I have somehow found comfort in even though I don't believe in God (which is weird). Guard follows up the lyric with, "but lately I've been knocking down the door and there's no answer", oh Jesus... sorry, don't believe in him either.

Bobby Guard is a L.A. singer songwriter (by way of Colorado) who writes (in large part) about the struggles of life in the LGBTQ Community. Even though some of the sad tones in Faith Alone hit home and strike broad commencements about broken or false faith, it is somehow comforting as well. I think that has to do with the soaring musical breaks, the poetic floating chorus and Guard's tender vocal aesthetic that commiserates. Bravo.

"I'm an animal without a home... and I can't do it on faith alone"

In the endBobby Guard's country folk tinged Faith Alone is full of broken promises but offers hope.

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:

Bobby Guard is an Indie-Folk musician based in Los Angeles. Hailing from Colorado, Bobby is a prolific songwriter with over 100 songs written and recorded. Their debut single "Hi-Lo" (released on June 14, 2019) touches the pinnacle of indie-folk artistry, playing off of Bobby's eagerness to blend their unique voice with a multitude of genres including folk, rock, classical, and new wave to shape one seamless sound. After leaving suburban Colorado for the artistic haven of the University of Southern California's film program, Bobby discovered their love for writing songs and playing guitar in their spare time. With no timidity to prevent them from producing as much as possible, Bobby turned songwriting into a daily practice, sometimes even writing three songs in a single session. After building such a wealth of music into their portfolio, Bobby gained notice from industry folk in Los Angeles, and has since gone full-steam ahead with their new sound. Bobby performed at the Pig N Whistle, one of their favorite venues, on August 10th, 2019. Bobby likes to explore the complexities of life through their works, focusing on the multitudes of colors found both inside and outside the lines of modern day society. They identify as a non-binary member of the LGBTQIA+ community and seek to tell stories that highlight the outsiders and occupants of life's grey areas, highlighting the intricacies of the human condition. Bobby explores such themes through both their music and art, and often collaborates with peers in the film industry on a variety of projects. They value their friends and family above all else, and hope to cultivate an environment of inclusiveness and respect in all of their pursuits
