Leon Ampersand's heavy lush Brit pop dreams on "Lightning Bug"

"teach me how to fly"

From Leon Ampersand's self titled EP, Lightning Bug is a deeply lush, ostensibly indie folk track with heavy distant Brit pop affectations. The acoustic guitar is so upfront that you feel at first that this track is, a simple acoustic track with lovey melodies and vox but the orchestration supported with synths, post rock guitars, drums and backing vox is wonderfully produced. There is not this pervasive pop sheen but just a sort of classic chamber pop aesthetic. A wonderful introduction to Leon Ampersand out of Burlington, Vermont. Once you hear it, let the entire EP play and you will be slowly transformed into a Leon Ampersand fan.

ps: I don't know much about this outfit or person (?) but rumor has it that it is the wonderful musical imaginings of W.Peters.
