Moonspeak and the art rock poised powerful ballad "Exceptions" leaves a lasting impression

"I come running when you call"

Exceptions by Swedish indie art rock affair Moonspeak is a big passionate indie rock ballad with a folk heart. The brain child of front man (singer-songwriter) Robert Jallinder (Vita Bergen) it is a dramatic ballad with bloody fingers and grand art rock gestures. Jallinder's vox are perfectly poised, self aware and pushed out beyond the edge. Press notes indicate that Exceptions "deals with a bomb threat and culminates in a two minute guitar solo" which surprises me as the musical narrative is so tight that the very cool lead guitar break felt only about 45 seconds long. A surprising and exceptional introduction to Moonspeak who are Robert Jallinder (vocals and guitars), Jakob Kullberg (keyboards and guitars), Stefano Lizama (bass) and Andreas Jallinder (drums) with Anna Ahnborg on backup vocals and they have left a deep amazing impression on me.
