Bible Belt's beautiful folk shuffle "Clear Blue Sky" is a simple pleasure and perfect
"and my heart's a dried up river..."
Bible Belt is a band based out of Los Angeles (not Alabama or Tennessee), circled around the songwriting and voice of John Dowd. The song Clear Blue Sky, from the recently released 2020 "Romance" EP, is a beautiful folk shuffle of a song, with pristine guitar lines, an ambling drum beat and Dowd's tender vocals that dip into a sad lull. The distant organ strains and easy bass sway pushes the song into garden rock territory. When the bridge comes in, your are reminded of simple pleasures, longing for love and you realize, at that moment, that this song is perfect.
Bible Belt is John Dowd (guitar / vocals), Tyler Grinham (lead guitar), Kyle Fordham (bass) and Olivia Vangieri (drums). The band is donating proceeds of the "Romance" EP to a worthy cause.
All Proceeds Go To Al Otro Lado. From their website:
"We are a bi-national, social justice legal services organization serving indigent deportees, migrants, and refugees in Tijuana, Mexico. Our mission is to provide legal services and to uplift our immigrant communities by defending the rights of migrants against systemic injustices in the legal system."
