The trap, jazzy, indie funk, chill pop of "You & I" will have you searching for more Treasure

"Currently plateaued,Stuck inside my zone"

From (UK) Treasure's 2020 album “Suffocation & Air” that dropped two days ago (April 10th), the track, You & I, is a floating piece of indie pop with trap affectations and injected with elements of funk. Treasure's vox (and self harmonies) are delish and the squashy viby keys give it a rather dance tropical punk pop jazzy experimental tone and I really like that. It fades out too soon, making you want to find more Treasure.

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:

Born in North West London, Treasure's family relocated to the Countryside in the early 2000’s trading the busy city life for the suburban serenity, a feeling present throughout his catalogue.

With no formal musical training, an audio engineering degree and pure will, Treasure birthed his self-titled project which featured on Lyrical Lemonade.

Inspired by the likes of Frank Ocean, Choker, HOMESHAKE, The Internet and D'Angelo, his laidback production and genre-merging tendencies provide a nostalgia based backdrop for his lush soulful harmonies.
Treasure wears his emotions on his sleeve. He transverses his musical world with this heightened sense of vulnerability, creating a space where he and the listener can rest at ease with no fear of judgement.

“Feelings” explores themes of love, “I Never Sleep” is an ode to the sleepless nights caused by lustful longing, and “@Wish You Were Here” is a spur of the moment love song with a modern albeit unique R&B twist.

So far, Treasure has been perfecting his production with consistent monthly releases, this led to the creation of the single "Your Touch" for fellow artist Freak Slug and French Label Nice Guys in November 2019.

In 2020 Treasure is due to release his follow up project “Suffocation & Air” on 10th April. It’s his take on indie rock peppered with jazz-tinged vibrations. As an exploration of opposites donning a guitar-driven backdrop, Treasure takes you on an emotionally fuelled yet downtempo journey.”
