Bad Flamingo are definitely bad. On their track Open the Gates they dispense their, now, signature sound: a sultry serenading cocktail of spaghetti western, pop noir, kitsch and ? Open the Gates, in particular, with the feral bongos, strident sort of surf bomb guitar downbeats and slow burn sensuality (with double entendres littering the sun drenched landscape) feels almost Grind House 70's in tone. I told them to stop it, stop sending me these amazing escapist pop creations but they refuse and now... now, I have developed a serious mask fetish. Thanks Bad Flamingo... thanks a lot! Yes, these two are bad alright (bullwhip snap in the background).
