Luuvis' lush R&B indie, neosoul creation "High" with Mayila is delicious

"tell me what's on the other side"

Luuvis is the musical project / moniker of Los Angeles based French musician Gervais Maillard and his latest track High, featuring the vocals of singer-songwriter Mayila, gets deep under your skin immediately. Maillard's ultra dreamy keys is a quick entre but it is the lush sounds and especially Mayila's crushingly beautiful vox that embraces fully. Stirring flourishes of running piano lines flow in the mix that moves with a sparse but potent beat. Maillard smartly discards any sort of snare snap for more of a click blended hand clap sound that sounds like neither but does not take away from all the deliciousness in the mix. It is a heady, lush, deeply satisfying drink or R&B indie and neosoul influenced by Jhene Aiko, H.E.R. and SG Lewis and it satisfies completely.
