Perfectparachutepicture (PPP)'s heavy post punk rock narrative on "They Only Want" (Official Video)

"those memories won't make you cry"

Perfectparachutepicture (PPP) are a post punk / noise rock duo (UK) and on the Official Video for the heavy rock trip, They Only Want, Kyle Ernest (drums, vox) lip syncs in a stoic way standing next to bassist Edward James. The counter position of just standing there mouthing the words against the jagged heavy vast rock sound of the song is intriguing. Love the sound they create with the utterly dirty fuzzed up bass and rock narrative that feels at once like proggy post rock / art rock but also feels kind of Goth punky around the edges. Ernest's vocal wails have grit but also feel artful against James double time machine like bass thrusts and chorus eruptions. The musical break that reminds me a bit of Death from Above 1979 is heavenly heavy.

Perfectparachutepicture's debut album "No Modern Desire" came out last September (2019).

"The local legends treat their listeners to a banquet of fuzz, a feast of distortion, a three-course grunge spread of hopeless optimism." - RGM: Reyt Good Magazine on their latest single 'Cigarettes'.
