Welcome Center and the purple lit alternative universe of "Control Alt Obsession"

"it's gonna be a good show... tonight, tonight"

Control Alt Obsession by Welcome Center, the Dallas / Philadelphia electronic pop duo of Jesse Smith and Aaron Sternick has a kind of hyper realistic vibe, sound. The sort of tropical punk piano jag, the art rock outstretched vocal aesthetic and the kind of 80's New Order-esque / meets dance-disco rave beats is super interesting and engaging. It is also a lot of fun. After 12 years of the two involved in projects ranging from "ranging from folk to French-house", Smith and Sternick as songwriters and producers are creating their own unique universe of sounds.

I am weird as I like to imagine songs visually and, to me, Control Alt Obsession exists in some dark 80's German disco with an alternative bizarro version of a flamboyant Ben Gibbard at the helm with a sax playered up band that look part ska and part punk as dressed by Klaus Nomi.

Welcome Center is an electronic indie-rock band that lays contemplative lyrics over insistent guitar work and a bed of 80's-esque analog-synthesizers (inspired by New Order, The Talking Heads, Neon Indian, LCD Soundsystem) . After twelve years of refining their craft in various projects ranging from folk to French-house, songwriter/producers Jesse Smith and Aaron Sternick have teamed up again to bring you the soundtrack to the party for the afterlife. The duo just completed their first 25+ date tour across the South and Northeast. Their debut EP 'Disorder’ is out May 2018 with multiple tours to follow.
