Jens Lehman is pop friendly, jazz fresh, R&B indie on "July"
"your love keep tapping, tap tap taping on me"
The jazz R&B indie fused July by Lincoln, Nebraska based singer songwriter Jens Lehman is directly inspired by the forced isolation during Covid 19. Lehman has an easy touch on the keys with a vocal style that is pop forward (with cool backing overdubs "wah wah wah waaaah") as Tyler Berg keeps the syncopated shuffle and drums snap in sharp ways fueled by Lucas Kellison's funk fresh bass lines. The tones overall are light and airy, fun and free though the breakdown touches on the edges of jazz rock but thankfully not too much. Lehman knows when to pull back, when to make less more.
