Adi Sun debuts post rock prog manifestations on the dreamy "Bella Sun Lever"

"tired of it, I wanna get down"

Boston recording artist Adi Sun (Phenomenal Sun) knows about having strength during hard times, breaking out on her own and transformation. As her story indicates over the last twelve months, she fell in love, suffered heartbreak, fell ill with shingles, quit her own band, and came out as transgender. Through all the loss and symbolic rebirth she also embarked on a solo career. Her debut single Bella Sun Lever speaks volumes. The track churns like a lumbering  powerful machine with dramatic stutters as Sun croons with a vocal aesthetic that in many ways has like the purity of late 70's rock. The proggy music movements, though, feel more like 90's post rock with art rock affections, the bass and drums heavy and inter-tangled hold sway as Sun snaps off beautiful lead licks that feel elegantly shaped with potent melodies. The proggy and art rock manifestations made me think of the Brit prog glam rock of 70's / 80's Be Bop Deluxe.

It is a phenomenal debut that at once feels nostalgic, classic and fresh all at the same time. Adi Sun (vox, guitar) is supported live by stellar players, Kevin Boldwin (bass), Tim Brown (guitar) and David Falcone (drums).

In the last twelve months Boston recording artist Adi Sun fell in love, suffered heartbreak, fell ill with shingles, quit her own band, came out as transgender, and still managed to write and record new music for her emerging solo career. Her debut single ‘Bella Sun Lever’ drops today!

“Shape-shifting Adi Sun reinvents again on ‘Bella Sun Lever’, says Carter Alan, Boston Radio Icon, iHeartRadio. “Opting for less of a prismatic dance groove and instead utilizing a focused 5-note guitar motif, ‘Bella Sun Lever’ builds to a towering cumulus of [Pink] Floydian heights.”

Adi Sun was the creative force behind indie shoegaze band Phenomenal Sun who came onto the Boston music scene in the late 2010s releasing five singles with multiple live performances and two appearances at the Rock & Roll Rumble. Adi Sun is now releasing new music as a solo artist and performing live with Kevin Boldwin on Bass, Tim Brown on Guitar and David Falcone on Drums.
