French Alps Tiger sustain youthful sadness in the psyche pop / indie rock "Let Me Down"

French Alps Tiger birth their evocative sounds from, well, the French Alps in South Wales and on their latest offering, Let Me Down, turn out a dreamy wash of indie rock steeped in what sounds like 80's Goth pop dipped in psychedelia. The heavy bass melody might smash a fat smile on your face, like it does mine. The drums court that bass line in lush ways dancing on the tom toms. The vocal aesthetic is swoony and the guitar accompaniment shoegazey with lovely lines floating about. The band shares:

"Will we just repeat the things done to us?
‘Let Me Down’ grapples with the gut wrenching heart ache of being well and truly fucked over. Powerless to stop it, and too naive to comprehend it until it’s like it didn’t even happen to you.
It’s also got a sad side."

And it does have a sad tone, especially the big outro ascending on fanning guitar and dreamy synths that feels like "Let Me Down" could grace a scene in a film where love is lost or severely broken into a million pieces.
