Nick Byrne's rain tinged folk will fill your senses on "Summer Rain"

"you don't have to speak"

Be forewarned: When you listen to the deeply dreamy and transforming Summer Rain by Buckinghamshire, UK based singer-songwriter Nick Byrne it might be best if you are not operating heavy equipment or driving your car or painting the kitchen. This is because the track infused with a sense of ambiance, recorded voices and of rain falling through Byrnes beautiful guitar picking with squeaky neck slides in tow and his resonant comforting vocal lilt might just hypnotize you. When the synths invade, the song becomes a pretty waltz and you might want to close your eyes and dream of better days or fall back to memories of longing of a lost love or one that you found and you just might just make a wrong turn or roll that paint across your refrigerator.

Damn beautiful stuff, truly. And more than ever I (maybe all of us) need the escape and need to remember there are so many beautiful things to anchor us all together.

['Summer Rain' is the second of Nick’s tracks to be produced by Jake Robbins (Weird Milk, Ben McKelvey). Previous releases Birch Tree (single) and Through The Tall Grass EP garnered praise from BBC Wales and BBC Ulster, helping secure a notable slot supporting indie-pop starlet Declan McKenna.]

Buckinghamshire, UK based Nick Byrne blends poignant melancholia and thoughtful lyricism into a contemporary mix of indie-folk nostalgia. Summer Rain, due for release on 14/08/20, is an introspective ode to healing and heartbreak. This beautiful slice of soft melancholia portrays a midsummer downpour as a moment of realisation ahead of a journey towards recovery – and the start of something new.

Previous single Houses showcased his capability for fingerpicked acoustica, drawing comparisons with Novo Amor and Keaton Henson. Championed by the likes of Mahogany sessions and Amazing Radio’s Frankie Francis, it drew praise for its inspiring lyricism and understated delivery.

Summer Rain is the second of Nick’s tracks to be produced by Jake Robbins (Weird Milk, Ben McKelvey). Previous releases Birch Tree (single) and Through The Tall Grass EP garnered praise from BBC Wales and BBC Ulster, helping secure a notable slot supporting indie-pop starlet Declan McKenna.
