"alone in L.A. what a mistake, waiting for you"
"Love" by Amour Glamour, the musical project for Shane Malins as creator, as musician who stirs, has his hands on all the elements of his songs, is based out of L.A. and pushes and pulls interesting takes on things. His press notes indicate that "if Cher and David Bowie had a baby" that "it would sound nothing like his tunes". How could you not fucking love that. Speaking of love, the sweetly subversive track, "Love" is informed by dark tragedies but as Malins seems to say, it is "worth it", the artistic and life affirming redemption.
He shares:
"After being rushed to the hospital from an overdose, my girlfriend believed in me and stayed by my side. Then I decided to pick drugs over her and left. My whole life crashed, and I was on the street. Then out of nowhere I found God, and everything about my life including my music changed. But my heart remembered her. This song is about being crazy, sober, and in love."
It is a harrowing sad back story and I wonder if his youthful existence and circumstance was shaped by privilege or a lack thereof (?) and while I don't personally believe in God, I am thankful Malin found him, her, it, if it works for him. I am thankful for that.

Shane Malins is the creator and musician for "Amour Glamour." He is based in Los Angeles, California. Amour Glamour is an indie creation and a spuratic clash of feelings and musical inspirations. If Cher and David Bowie had a baby, it would sound nothing like his tunes. He has been in numerous bands and played several shows and festivals but decided to go solo. He grew up going to shows and it's the only thing he could ever see himself doing realistically. Some of his lovely inspirations include Andrew VanWyngarden of MGMT, Jim Morrison of The Doors, and Bradley Nowell of Sublime. It is your mom's new favorite bedroom pop with a jazzy twist.
Yeah that ^ sounds pretty good but I've definitely grown up since then.
