Old Sea Brigade and Luke Sital-Singh and the garden rock beauty of "Amaranth Moonlight" from their new debut EP

"Amaranth Moonlight" by Nashville based Old Sea Brigade (aka Ben Cramer and Los Angeles based (Londoner) Luke Sital-Singh somehow is able to exist as both an indie garden rocker and middle of the road radio fare. This means that teens and their grandparents (and everyone in between), parents, aunts and uncles could all ramble down the road in a Suburban with heads swaying in unison. No, "Change it Dad!!" During these sliced and diced genre's with a dozen sub genres and niche music marketing this is a more incredible feat than you might imagine.

Ben and Luke have constructed such a timeless classic sound steeped in a sort of 70's folk rock tone but with earnest rootsy garden rock and pop forward affections that this song is not only unbelievably catchy (the guitar hook will stay in your brain easily for 3 days) but without feeling false. There are no overt indie tropes of the day. Or to put it another way, it sounds utterly analog in a digital world, which gives it another form of audiophilish street cred.

The sick and groovy, Amaranth Moonlight, is from their debut EP "All The Ways You Sing In The Dark", available now via Nettwerk. Ben and Luke took inspiration from cruising around Silverlake and Hollywood, ulitimately capturing aspects of the Laurel Canyon sound of icons like Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young.
