Lina Saroza's jazztronic love story "The Greatest Day in History" beguiles and jams

"making something magical"

"The Greatest Day in History", the debut single by Cuban born, Miami based singer-songwriter and sax player extraordinaire, Lina Saroza, rolls in such an easy way but is complex in it's deceptively adept fusing of retro funk, spun out jazz, and electro indie soul pop elements. Saroza manages to squeeze lush and dreamy embraces out of this amalgam. You feel the nostalgia as well as the forward pop tones from the pearly keys and fluid bass lines to the trap cadence. Her vocal aesthetic is purely dreamy, earthy and her sax play is potent, swirling between low tone bounces and high gymnastics. Perfect for any, and I mean, any contemporary playlist.

"The song is about the dawn of love. How looking into someone’s eyes you see a world that is new, like each day where the sun rises and where each day is The Greatest Day in History."

-Robb Donker Curtius

Born in Cuba and based in Miami FL, Lina Saroza is a gifted sax player who has performed in countless shows in South Florida and surrounding areas. Recently she has turned her attention to singing and songwriting and has now began releasing her original music. Strongly influenced by American funk and heavy jazz, she is combining these influences with modern flavors resulting in a funky and jazzy take on pop music. Her first single, “The Greatest Day in History” is a perfect example of how these styles of music and elements come together in a very smooth and catchy fashion.
