NGELS and the deep well of dream pop emotion on "inbetween" from the debut "Consequences" Album

"I wonder do you ever think of me"

Within "inbetween" from Los Angeles based NGELS, a solo from Tyler Godfrey (co-written and produced by Clint Holgate), you feel a deep well of emotion pushed through lush pop rock filters. Godfrey's vocal croon is hushed, feels sincere and floats over a truly dreamy groove. There is this sort of light jazz rock affection too as well as a late 70's pop motif. It all feels inviting and wraps around you like a teenage crush. "inbetween" is track 4 from NGELS' debut album "Consequences" that swims in dense pop ways infused by commercial pop, funk, soul, indie rock through sort of bedroom dream pop filters (with even a post punk air in faint places).

Listen to the ennui drenched single "Everything" that has receive high praise from many tastemakers and you realize Godfrey and Holgate's exquisite ability to push dream pop buttons that take you away. You may think of artists like Porches and even Kitten (yeah, I did) but you might think of MJ too and other artists and genres (in between) smashed together.
