Beige Banquet and the pummeling new wave-esque art punkery of "Wired/Weird"

"indented bed sheets stained with sweat"

London’s Beige Banquet have just let out their brilliantly odd track “Wired/Weird” via Just Step Sideways Records. This project is a strong dose of punk punk similar to the stylings of DEVO, Tuxedomoon and The Fall. The artist behind this weirdo punk noise, Tom Brierley recorded and produced the track himself as part of their debut album set for an early 2021 release. The album is the result of being in a pandemic, and rather than playing live, like many of us, Beige Banquet have put their creative itch into writing and recording. With a track this explosive, the album is sure to be churned out sparks of dope madness. Check out “Wired/Weird” and keep your ears clean and open for the Beige Banquet LP.

Formed in 2020 or ‘The Year That Shall Not Be Named’ London-based Beige Banquet play drum-machine-driven and self-produced outsider/weirdo/art punk.

‘Wired/Weird’ is the first in an ambitious collection of tracks written, tracked and produced in a dank East-London bedroom during the first part of 2020. Forced by circumstances familiar to many musicians, Tom had to switch focus from performing to recording, and these tracks were the result.
