Premiere: Lavender Blue and the spellbinding day tripping of "Beware" (Official Video)

"you can try to hide..."

Lavender Blue have just released their official video for “Beware,” a spellbinding dream pop track. The video by Donnie Rex Bishop follows model Aurora Gantz exhibiting destructive behavior whenever they wear a particular sweater, while the band plays their ethereal song during sunset in a field. This demonstrates the interpersonal conflict of good and evil which we all encounter throughout life. Kayla Zuskin fronts the trio, writing haunting lyrics and melodies brought to life with effortless guitar and vocals. Margo Shultz (bass), and Landon George (drums) hold the rhythm together and carry the sound. “Beware” embodies the unique style of Lavender Blue, summoning both dark and light to create its own atmosphere. Zuskin’s EP “I Get Lost” is set for release this year so keep your eyes peeled for that, and get lost with the “Beware” video for now.

Lavender Blue is the musical alias of Kayla Zuskin; guitarist, songwriter and producer.

Sweet and spikey, as the lavender flower, Zuskin’s songs are lilting and dreamy, as much as they jolt and shake you to the edge of your seat. Her diverse musical inspirations peak through proverbial cracks in the seemingly pop and folk-rock arrangements. In a guitar solo, a rock guitar riff, a longing lyric or a hauntingly ethereal line. It’s as if the darkness and the light meld to create the sound itself.

As diverse in her skills as her songwriting, Zuskin has produced and engineered country/ americana albums for predominantly female identifying artists Lo Wolf and Valorie Miller. She has collaborated with Big Violin Player of South Korea on an instrumental EP, and Sophia Darby and Danielle Hill as the trio Tauri Moon.

Zuskin is inspired by the world around her and continues to create and compose even amidst the changing landscape of 2020.

Look out for her forthcoming EP “I Get Lost” in 2021.
