The second single from Santans entitled “Mesa Verde'' illustrates the experience of dancing with your inner demon and finding the balance without getting too far disassociated from oneself. At the start of the lockdown in Germany, Santans was in the hospital for a month waiting for a spot in the ICU for a brain tumor operation, and during this time had to confront himself in a way that only solitude and awareness of the fragility of life can affect us. The video is mesmerizing, bringing the track and Santans experience and concept to life with a heavy Kenneth Anger feel of ethereal and hallucinatory grace. Santans, also known as Chris Scott Pham directed and edited this video shot masterfully by Janine Brömse and Luca Kraus with make up by Olivia Werner. “Mesa Verde” is off of Santans upcoming EP “ttt,” a culmination of Santans confidently catchy and expressive lo fi pop.
