SOLD and the heavy post punk turbulence of "A New Wind"

"when lightning strikes the lighthouse"

The heady guitar heavy turbulence of "A New Wind" by Philadelphia based, SOLD, with churning potent bass booms, guitar lines that are both brittle like glass and screaming like sirens, anchored with furious drumming and Ted Quann's rebel wail feels very nostalgic and in the best possible way. You feel like you stepped into the mid- 80's post punk mayhem, particularly Brit post punk. There is a dark brooding nature to SOLD's sound underneath the anthemic punk stomp.

SOLD is Ted Quann (Vocals, Guitar) Scott Signorino (Bass) Austin Lotz (Keys, Vocals) and Jon Murphy (Drums) and they are working on a full length due to drop this summer (2021).

SOLD is a band from Philadelphia.

It’s four dudes. They play post-punky stuff. And it’s probably the last thing this world needs more of at this rate.

But they’ve been at it for a while. And after these long last 2 years of writing, touring, life changes, drama and pandemic, they’ve got a new album in the works that they need the world to hear. It’s a culmination of all the ups and downs we’ve all felt and translate them into songs that tackle the many anxieties we can all relate to. Love, loss, spinning wheels and uncertainty are common themes, all set to an upbeat rhythm that asks the listener to dance their anxieties away instead of dwelling on them.

Now, SOLD is releasing their first single of this new material to get the music out into the world. The song is called “A New Wind.” It’s a tight, high energy post-punk infused jam that is rife with tension but has moments of light. Much like the lyrics which paint the picture of a life on repeat looking for a breakthrough or a light or a new wind to inspire change, and ultimately having to seek the change yourself.

SOLD is Ted Quann (Vocals, Guitar) Scott Signorino (Bass) Austin Lotz (Keys, Vocals) and Jon Murphy (Drums). The track was recorded at Headroom studio by famed local producer Kyle Pulley with help from Mark Watter.

A full-length follow up will be dropping in late Spring 2021.

SOLD, Punk, Post-Punk, Gothic / Dark Wave, "Philadelphia, heavy guitar, churning bass, feral drumming, "A New Wind"
