Sarah Walk and the beautiful divergent pop sway of "Secrets"

"I've got secrets I don't want to tell..."

[THESSENCE]

"Secrets" by Sarah Walk, and from the upcoming "Simply" EP, has a beautiful pop sway with an emotional folk indie heart. Walk manifests strength coated with some sadness but more resolve that we can all slow dance to.

[Singer-songwriter Sarah Walk announced her enchanting Simply EP — a collection of stripped back versions of choice singles from last year's Another Me album as well as two brand-new tracks, out June 24 via One Little Independent Records (Björk, etc).

The first of the new songs written especially for the EP is "Secrets," using a laid-back groove and synths to construct smooth contemporary R&B.

The new EP comes on the heels of her collaboration w/ Meshell Ndegeocello and Abe Rounds for a cover of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U" and 2020's Another Me -- an album produced by Leo Abrahams (Regina Spektor, Belle and Sebastian, Paul Simon, Pulp, David Byrne, Brian Eno) that explores her experience as a queer woman with themes of vulnerability, toxic relationships and patriarchal entitlement.]
