TITANIA and the deep resonance and cool beauty of "Crush My Heart" (Official Video)

"baby, you're so unfair... baby, how could you leave me?"

Tulsa, Oklahoma based indie singer-songwriter, producer, mixing engineer TITANIA ("Queen of the Faeries" formerly Paris Snow) offers up a dreamy time transformer in "Crush My Heart". I love and appreciate songs that dare to strip away pretense by being minimal and spartan. Of course, it helps a lot when you have a killer vocal aesthetic and TITANIA's vocal character feels (to me) rooted in an early proto punk sensibility. I feel tinges of 80's British art pop grandeur and post punk tenderness, of midnight teen movies, a drop dead gorgeous vocal lilt bathed in cool and anchored in a deep emotional resonance like an amalgam of Paul Banks (Interpol), Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet) and Ian McCulloch (Echo and the Bunnymen). "Crush My Heart" ends with a surprising bit of hard reality, an audio clip of utter candor. I do not know the back story but it adds a heaviness, a punctuation that life can be hard but then, most of us know that, don't we??
