"I tried to find God, I wrote the New York Times..."
"A Good-Looking Ghost" by the always interesting Psychic Graveyard, from their upcoming full length "Veins Feel Strange" (dropping in September and a follow up to last year's stellar "A Bluebird Vacation" both via Deathbomb Arc), is everything you want and need in a post punk synthwave track. The deep dirty synth groove, the swing inherent in the drum beat, the bits of broken electonica but mostly, the wide eyed amount of 'crazy' contained in the vocal aesthetic and acerbic wit running throughout like the fudge and peanut butter coursing through Ben & Jerry's Moosetrack ice cream. Both are wildly enjoyable.
Of the track PG share:
This is the 2nd single off the upcoming Psychic Graveyard album. The song is sung from the point of view of a man who is about to die and is very unhappy about the manner of death. He tries to rationalize the event by convincing himself that he will at least make, "A Good-Looking Ghost."
Psychic Graveyard is Eric Paul, Paul Vieira, Charles Ovett, and Nathan Joyner (ex- Arab On Radar, Some Girls, All Leather members) and I hope they stay together forever. YUM.
