Quitt and the post punk half step ascensions of "Alleine grinsen"

 

"Ich schaffe unmögliches: ich komm hoch..."


I don't speak German but falling headfirst into "Alleine grinsen" by Mainz based post punk / alt rock band, Quitt, and I was still taken on a journey full of dreamy moments, jagged interwoven guitars, beautiful have step ascensions while lead lines were falling, urgent shifting percussion and drum work and a vocal aesthetic that felt like someone recalling tender and hard moments of longing. Beautiful stuff, interesting musical narratives as I hang on the sound of voices instead of the words. When eruptions start, loose and jamming with divergent choices I thought of artists like Interpol, Muzz and Bloc Party. Love this.
