The Absolution Train and the down home garage rock / country punk "Walk in the Woods"

"and if you would once, bless my soul..."

The Absolution Train is an American musical and literary project founded in 2007 and helmed by singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Connor Charlton assisted by other talented folks. I am, admittedly thin on details (sometimes that happens) but my feeling is that Charlton works solo on some works and brings on different musicians and friends on other works, a creative collective of sorts.

The track "Walk in the Woods" feels like down home garage rock with Americana roots affections and big country punk strokes. I though of the very underrated indie rock band out of Bakersfield, California, Cracker (David Lowery). Really digging Charlton's vocal aesthetic, the slight drawl and grit in his throat.
